5 Types of Glasses You Need for Restaurant Business

Many people think they need only two types of glasses in their restaurant - wine glasses and water glasses. The truth is that more than just those two are important to your bar setup.

Here's an overview of the types of glasses you'll need the branding to keep your restaurant running smoothly and efficiently:

1. Polycarbonate Wine Glass
The polycarbonate wine glass is common in restaurants and is used to serve red wines, particularly ones with higher alcohol content. This durable, lightweight glass can withstand hot temperatures, making it perfect for transporting in a preheated carafe. It’s also dishwasher safe — an important feature to consider when serving various wines and cocktails in your establishment.

2. Low-Cost Wine Glass
Anytime someone orders a glass of wine, you'll use your lowest-cost wine glasses. This is where customers' expectations are lower, and they aren't scrutinising every detail. Wine glasses are easy to break and expensive to replace, so you have to buy in bulk for affordable prices.

3. Colonial Beer Glass
These colonial beer glasses are, in my opinion, one of the most underrated glasses. The tapering foot and stem make it easy to hold, and its wide bowl is ideal for large pours. If you want to focus on selling certain types of beer or hosting certain events, ensure you have a solid selection of these glasses in your bar inventory. You can even use them in events hosted.

4. Puligny Wine Glass
If you're serving a French wine or one from Burgundy, you must use a glass made specifically for it. A Puligny glass is shallower than an ordinary wine glass. A wider bowl will help you detect volatile elements like oak, vanilla and other aromas associated with French and Bordeaux wines. The shape also keeps white wines colder as your hand won't warm them up easily. So, that makes these wine glasses special for use in your bar.

5. Chill Scotch Glass
This glass is used to serve scotch, vodka, and all other clear spirits. The Scotch glass should be chilled before pouring and left in place until your guest has finished their drink. This not only keeps drinks colder longer but also preserves aromas, allowing guests to experience more complex flavours. As a bar person, it’s important to know how each different glass affects a beverage’s presentation; why ruin a great scotch by pouring it into an ugly old pint glass? Therefore, have these glasses in your restaurant.

Your business can quickly become overwhelming when running a restaurant and a bar. There are people to serve, and you can take the opportunity to market your bar. You need to buy branded glasses in bulk to save on marketing costs.

The good thing is that we have all these glasses for you to buy. Branding them with your name increases your brand loyalty and awareness.
